A big part of running a business is keeping up to date with your accounting, one of the most common ways that small business owners do that is through Quickbooks. Keeping that in mind, Jobber offers seamless integration with your Quickbooks accounting system.
Before we get started on how to integrate your Jobber account with your Quickbooks software, keep in mind that Quickbooks is a relatively old piece of software that is limited in terms of how it communicates with other software. That said, hopefully this how-to guide will make the synchronization process as painless as possible. If you run into any problems please get in touch with our support team.
First of all make sure that your Quickbooks Add-on is activated in your Jobber account. This can be done by going into your “Account Settings” and, from there, accessing the Add-ons page.
Once you’re sure that Quickbooks is on you can go back into your main “Account Settings” where you’ll find a sub-heading for “Add-on Settings.”
If you click on “Quickbooks” you will be taken to a page that gives you a step by step breakdown of the integration process.

Towards the top of this page you’ll notice a few syncing options. Clients are always synced, but you can choose to sync your Service and Products as well as your Invoices.
If you have Invoice Syncing set up you’ll notice an option to “Push to Quickbooks” in your “Actions” menu on each Invoice. Once you choose to push the Invoice, it will remain “Pending Invoice” until you do a sync at which point it will be marked as “In Sync” and you won’t be able to change it unless you delete the corresponding Invoice in Quickbooks.
Step 1 is to Save and Backup your Quickbooks company file.
Step 2 is to download and install the Quickbooks Web Connector which must be running on your computer any time you’re attempting to sync Jobber (or any other software) with Quickbooks.
Step 3 is to download Jobber’s Quickbooks Certificate which tells your Quickbooks software that Jobber is trustworthy. This should download into your PC’s “Downloads” folder unless you’ve set your browser up to direct downloads elsewhere.
Step 4 asks you to access the Quickbooks Certificate you just downloaded. When you bring the Quickbooks Certificate up you’ll be prompted to limit when you’d like to have syncs go through. We’d recommend you set things up so that Jobber and Quickbooks can only sync when your Quickbooks program is open with the appropriate company file. That way if there are any inconsistencies you’ll know right away!
The next couple steps are relatively self-explanatory. We highly recommend that you have a look at our Quickbooks FAQ before you get started with syncing. If you have any questions that aren’t answered there, or if you have trouble syncing, please let us know.
